Excess Leather from Hermès is Given Wings

Hermès Leather Parrots by Zim & Zuo

Hermès Leather Parrots by Zim & Zuo

Zim & Zou, a French artistic duo, created a series of parrots made from Hermès scrap leather. The parrots were featured alongside an instillation of Hermès scarves by Hilton McConnico. The work was up from September 2, 2012 to Ocotober 5, 2012 at an art show by Hermès entitled Seidenblicke featuring artists that used Hermès items to create their work. Taking the beautiful leather from Hermès and making these scraps into these beautiful works of art is a testimate to Hermès’ leather choice and Zim & Zou’s artistic skill. The parrots are made up of multiple colors, some of which we thought were Lime, Kiwi, Yellow, Bleu Paon and of course some Orange! We realize this is a past exhibit but the intricate and loveliness of these birds made us want to share them! You can see more work from the artists who made the birds at their website Zim & Zou and you can see more of the work of the instilation artist Hilton McConnico’s work at his website which includes some images from the Hermès scarf installation he did for this Hermès show!
