It doesn’t get any better than an Hermes Birkin with diamonds but why pay $350,000 US Dollars for that look? Rolex makes after-market diamond watches, right? Just a little sample of more to come.

Matt Rubinger, a former employee of Heritage Auctions just landed a position at Christie’s International as one of their premier Hermès Birkin Handbag experts. To have such a prestigious position sounds like the ultimate dream, right? Unfortunately, Mr. Rubinger has found himself is a legal mess with former employer, Heritage Auctions. Heritage Auctions has filed a lawsuit against Christie’s International for $60 million dollars for damages and lost profits. The lawsuit takes not only the recent of Rubinger into account, but also two other former Heritage Auctions employees. The lawsuit claims that Rubinger stole trade secrets and breached his contract with Heritage Auctions.

A spokeswoman for Christie’s International told the Times, “We have reviewed the complaint and find it to be wholly without merit. We are prepared to vigorously defend these claims and Christie’s decision to expand our existing handbag department.”

We wonder what the end result of the lawsuit against Christie’s International will be. Do you think Heritage Auctions has a case? We wish Matt Rubinger luck for his new position at Christie’s International.

Heather Donated Her Hair to Wigs for Kids!

Heather Hartmann, Wigs For Kids, Cancer, Donation, Fundraiser, Good cause,

Seen above: Heather a week before she donated her hair, Heather and her husband Steve at their wedding, and Heather holding one of the five pony tails she donated, 16 inches!

Have you ever known someone that was battling cancer? Chances are that someone in your family or one of your friends has been diagnosed with cancer. Could you imagine if this family member was a child?   Around 12,400 children under the age of 18 are diagnosed with cancer each year. All cancer patients need support from their loved ones and must stay positive during their treatment. Unfortunately, one side effect of treatment is that patients may lose their hair and that may damage their self-confidence and limit the life experiences that all children should have.  This may cause a negative attitude for the child toward treatment and their physical response may be affected negatively as well.

For over 30 years, Wigs for Kids  has been providing hair replacement systems to children that have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, alopecia, Trichotillomania, burns and other medical issues at no cost to children or their families. That is right, absolutely no cost. How is this possible? Hair replacement systems are funded by donors. Wigs for Kids is a non-for-profit that offers the chance to heal the pain of hair loss and help give them confidence again. Through monetary and hair donations, Wigs for Kids helps 125-150 children every year.

Heather, our writer, designer, and web guru has had many family members and friends affected by cancer and knew that she wanted to try and make a difference. She believes that no one should ever have to endure cancer, especially children whose life has just begun. Seven years ago, Heather started growing her hair out with the intention to donate and kept on top of routine trims and rarely styled or blow dried her hair to keep her hair healthy. Heather wanted to keep her length for her wedding last year and intended to cut it soon after her honeymoon however, she decided to keep it for 11 months more to allow for extra growth. Heather is dedicating her donation to her grandfather, Edwin who passed away in 2000 after a battle with Lymphoma.

This May, the long awaited haircut came. Through seven years and careful care, Heather was able to donate 16” of hair! Heather is happy to be able to help a child in need and knows that the hair she donated will help restore confidence and make them feel beautiful again.  Heather researched hair donation companies for months and spoke to the American Cancer Society who recommends both Wigs for Kids and Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths program. Beautiful Lengths accepts a minimum of 8” and Wigs for Kids asks for 12”.

As mentioned above, Wigs for Kids is a truly non-for-profit and never sells their wigs. Wigs for Kids asks hair donors to try and help fund raise $1,800.00 to support the production costs of the wig that their hair will be a part of, however it is not required. Over the past few months, Heather has been collecting pledges and donations to help fund her donation. Today, Heather has $500 towards her $1,800 goal. She will be sending in her hair and all collected funds at the end of June to Wigs for Kids.

Would you like to help and donate to Heather’s cause? Visit her Fundly page here where you may donate using credit or debit cards. Any level of donation is greatly appreciated.

Tyler Shields Takes Another Bite at Using Fake Hermès Birkin Handbags in his Work!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Tyler Shields is at it again! 32-year-old Tyler Shield’s is claiming that he sacrificed another $100,000 Hermès Birkin Bag in the name of art. But did he really? Hermès Purse Forum, as well as many other creditable Hermès related websites have deemed the original Red Crocodile Birkin Bag as a fake, as it had clear characteristics that it was not an authentic Hermès Birkin Handbag. We are happy to say that this too is a fake and that a beautiful,  authentic Hermès Birkin Handbag was not harmed in the making of these photographs.

Mr. Shields is a young photographer who is known for his very controversial art. Many young starlets jump at the chance for a photo shoot with Tyler. Ex-girlfriend, Francesca Eastwood was the original model to destroy a fake  crocodile Birkin Handbag, a red 35cm Birkin with Gold Hardware by cutting it with a chainsaw and lighting it on fire.  Both handbags Tyler had destroyed feature an unrealistic, plastic like look. The blue handbag featured above even has streaks of color, a clear indicator that this handbag is not authentic. Hermès performs a very detailed coloring process to make their bags absolutely perfect, resulting in a solid color that is never streaky. Another point worth bringing up is a brand new 35cm Hermès Crocodile or Alligator Birkin Handbag always tends to be stiff and the one in the images just seems to bend with ease. Almost as if it is fresh out of a box from a replica dealer in China! However, according to Daily Mail, it took seven months to find the handbag but only four days to find the alligator for the shoot. We do not believe this handbag is real at all!

In this shoot, Tyler photographed the 22-year-old actress and model, Ana Mulvoy-Ten. ‘It was a game of inches,’ Tyler said to Daily Mail. ‘When we started the day it was feet, and slowly as the day progressed we got closer and closer to the gator until Ana was inches away.’ Ana was asked to hold the bag in front of the Alligator and tease it while the bag was on a hook and later even came face-to-face- with the Alligator as the both bit the handbag! We will give it to Ana that not only is she completely stunning but she also has guts!

Would you like a behind the scenes look at how the shoot went? Watch the video below and also check out to check out Tyler’s many controversial works! We wonder what Tyler will do next!

This is not an Authentic Hermès Birkin Handbag! What happens when an Hermès Birkin Bag seems too good to be true?

Hermes, Birkin, Iris, Fake, Not authentic, Counterfeit, Real deal, Palladium Hardware, Purple, Fake,

How do you tell a real Hermès Handbag from a fake? It is getting increasingly difficult to tell as producers of counterfeit handbags are getting closer and closer to the real thing every day. Recently, a 35cm Hermès Iris Togo Leather Birkin Handbag with Palladium Hardware arrive at our office as a consignment item. To the untrained eye, this handbag may have been passed off as the real deal.  It is frightening to see just how similar this handbag was at a glance. However, after a closer look, we were horrified with the results.

The first thing we look for when reviewing a handbag is the wear. The handbag was clearly used, as it had wear. The first thing we notice about a used bag is if it is floppy and slouchy. Not only was this  handbag NOT slouchy, it also had a funky smell, and did not smell like Hermès leather. After looking closer,  the grain seemed off as well as the overall texture and it felt cheap.

After noticing these key points and determining this handbag was a fake, we checked the lock with one of our Hermès Birkin Handbags that we bought in an Hermès boutique. We put both locks for the two bags side by side and they were slightly different. The keyholes had different measurements as well. The differences were so slight that this bag may have been passed off as the real thing to someone who didn’t know any better.

The plates of this handbag looked as if they were engraved with white ink. The letters and spacing in the engraving did not match up with an authentic bag. Even the thread looked to be cheap and of low quality. We wanted to warn our readers that fake Birkin bags are getting more and more like the real thing each day and that they should take caution when purchasing an Hermès Handbag. The owner of Créateurs de Luxe helps authenticate Hermès Handbags for many companies and is able to spot even the closest of fakes. And remember one of the key lessons in life, “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” Trust your instincts and happy Birkin hunting!

Divorce Drama: Johnny Weir’s Husband Writes “F*** You” on one of Johnny’s Hermès Birkin Handbags!

Many of our Twitter and Facebook followers may recall an article we shared by Johnny Weir, the highly fashionable U.S.A. Olympic Figure Skater, in November 2013. The article was written October 10th, 2013 and tells us the tale of how Johnny not only obtained his dream 35cm Hermès Orange Leather Birkin Handbag with Palladium Hardware, but also how someone completely defaced it in the blink of an eye. This past week, reports that Johnny had filed for divorce from his husband of more than two years, Victor Voronov surfaced. Soon after the release, stories about how the two were handling the split, the cause and the outrageous drama followed.

In October of last year, Johnny shared with us a story about how he finally acquired the must-have, 35cm Hermès Orange Leather Birkin Handbag with Palladium Hardware.  While we were happy to read this tale, it soon turned sour. While out with friends in Manhattan during the last few weeks of September, Johnny left his bag at the table with his friends while he visited the washroom. On the way back to his table, Johnny saw a “clearly homosexual person” leave his group’s area. This man was not with them and while he passed Johnny, he mouthed the word, “B****.”  Johnny brushed off the interaction and returned to his friends. A half hour passed and when Johnny went to grab his bag, and his heart sank. His brand new baby was defiled with the words, “F*** Y**” written in permanent marker on the front in large letters. This moment made him recognize just how much hate there is in the world, even in his own community.

Flash forward five months, Johnny and his Hermès Birkin Handbags are in the news again, and unfortunately, we cannot report that this time it is any happier of a situation. As Johnny let the world know on March 19th, 2014 that he filed for divorce from his hubby, Victor Voronov, rumors and stories of drama began to fly. This was a shock to everyone as they seemed so happy, and they just entered their second year of marriage this past New Year’s Eve. Sadly, this is not the case. Johnny filed for divorce before attending this year’s Winter Games as a commentator for NBC in Sochi. So what happened?

In an email obtained by TMZ, Johnny writes to Victor on September 29, 2013, “If you decide to wreck things, please wreck cheaper things than Birkins. The f*** you on the Birkin is kinda cool, though, you artist.  I know you don’t care about how I’ll survive if you divorce me, but please leave my Birkin bags, Celine bags and Chanel bags alone.”

Why did Victor go after Johnny’s prized possessions? Because there were rumors stirring that Johnny may have cheated and the two were of fighting with each other. Some of Johnny’s closest friends witnessed Victor hit Johnny. In early March, Johnny was in court with charges pressed against him by Victor for supposedly biting his arm in a physical altercation. It was also rumored that Johnny was tired of financially supporting Victor.

As the rumors come out, we need to ask, are these two incidents related or even the same event? Is it possible that Victor had someone defile Johnny’s new baby at the restaurant that day, or could more than one of Johnny’s handbags been attacked? The initial Birkin crime took place in September. At the very end of the month, Johnny reportedly sent Victor an email with a plea for forgiveness and to not destroy his handbags. And finally, in October, Johnny writes about how he experienced a hate crime from within his own community. How could Johnny’s friends not notice someone touching his Birkin? So far no one has questioned if these two stories are connected, but we at the Hermès Purse Forum would love to know. We wonder which of his bags were harmed!

As for Johnny, we are sorry that you have not only had to endure terrible treatment of your bags once, but twice and are going through a painful divorce. We wish you the best and may the road to your future be paved in beautiful handbags!

L’Wren Scott – A Talented Beauty

This past Monday, the Fashion world suffered a tremendous loss. L’Wren Scott, an unbelievably talented Fashion designer was found dead in her Manhattan apartment. This unbelievably beautiful woman was not only a fashion designer, but also a costume designer and a model. We are crushed to hear the news of this gorgeous woman’s passing.

L’Wren Scott was born in Roy, Utah. Her birth name was Laura “Luann” Bambrough. L’Wren was raised by adoptive parents. This beautiful woman got her start in the fashion world when she was just a young girl. At twelve years old, L’Wren was already six feet tall, and would grow to be 6’3” as an adult.  This made finding clothing to fit her frame incredibly difficult, so she began designing and creating her own clothes from items she bought at thrift stores. After high school, L’Wren moved to Paris to pursue a career as a model and would eventually become a stylist and designer.  She was a model for Pretty Polly  tights advertisements and later appeared on runways for Chanel and other high-end luxury boutiques.

In the mid 1990’s she moved to Los Angeles, where she became a stylist and costume designer. In 2001, L’Wren became the partner of Rolling Stones front man, Mick Jagger. The two have been together ever since. L’Wren created designs for Mick and his Rolling Stone’s Tour. L’Wren founded LS Fashions Ltd., in New York City in 2006, with her first like called, “Little Black Dress.” Over the years, L’Wren designed clothing for many celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie, Madonna, Sarah Jessica Parker, Naomi Campbell, Christina Hendricks and many more.  L’Wren was scheduled to participate in Fashion Week, but cancelled her 2014 fall show.  She claimed that there were production issues however, as more details are released about her death, we learned that LS Fashions Ltd., had financial issues.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her loved ones.
